Fourier vs Laplace transform

Like the Laplace transform elevating the analysis of a function into a different dimension (aka s-domain), the Fourier transform decomposes the analysis of a function into an infinite summation of its fundamental frequencies (aka frequency domain).

DFT are ideal for processing information in computers as we are limited to finite memory and processing power.
